Things I’m currently decluttering:

- fear of failure as business owner

- shame for not working as much as I think I should

- imposter syndrome telling me that no one wants my advice

- doubt in myself as an expert

- perfectionism getting in the way of me sharing anything I create

- immediately seeking screens when I’m faced with anything slightly difficult

- the belief that I should be able to do it all by myself

I will never shame you if getting take out coffee is the only light in your life and you don’t want to give it up to save a few bucks everything month.

If there is one thing I could gift you (besides an amazing uplifting community that brings you meals, cleans your house, and watches your children when you need them), it’s the gift of knowing that when things are not going your way, it will get better. And one of the fastest ways I turn around my day is by making a to-do list and a gratitude list.

You’ve made it to the final stretch. The last week before Christmas. The halls are decked, the stockings hung, the kitchen refrigerator (and garage refrigerator) are packed full of yummy foods. But then that nagging feeling creeps in. Maybe you have already placed a few wrapped gifts under the tree. But is it enough? Are the kids going to bound out of bed on Christmas morning, running full speed towards the tree, and wowed by the abundant gifts under the tree. Have you done enough?

Because even just a pile of stuff in the corner that you see as clutter can heighten cortisol levels that are already rising as we balance the demands of the holiday season in the middle of record inflation rates, an ongoing global pandemic, and increasingly extreme weather events, among other things. Let’s start by focusing on what we can control, and that is your immediate surroundings.it to function for you and your loved ones.

Since we can’t all expand our budgets to cover all the presents, consider who in your life has provided this type of essential support to you, your family, or others that could use extra attention this year.

Y’all, I swear, I have become such a rebel. I am questioning everything these days. I am especially questioning why we continue to celebrate the millionaire-at-25, I-built-this-business-using-just-my-phone lifestyle that is essentially just another get rich quick, pyramid scheme that requires someone (usually MANY someone’s) be at the bottom.

There is a theme I see over and over on #smallbizIG. A small business owner will share the story of when they told their friends and family that they were starting [insert online/small business], and the response was overwhelming unsupportive. People said, “that will never work”, “you should get a real job”, and “you’ll never be able to do it”. And now, their business is wildly successful, and they are living the dream others said was impossible.
