Encouragement

There is a theme I see over and over on #smallbizIG. A small business owner will share the story of when they told their friends and family that they were starting [insert online/small business], and the response was overwhelming unsupportive. People said, “that will never work”, “you should get a real job”, and “you’ll never be able to do it”. And now, their business is wildly successful, and they are living the dream others said was impossible.

At first, these stories were a bit shocking to me. I wondered why I kept seeing this trend of loved ones lacking encouragement when someone is going for a big goal. I just couldn’t imagine anyone around me reacting in such a way.

And that’s when it hit me - when I decided to go back to college as a mom with 1 y.o. twins, when I decided to become a barre instructor with no dance or fitness background, and when I decided to start this business, I didn’t have one person tell me I couldn’t do it, or it wouldn’t work. My friends were so excited for me, so proud, so supportive.

And that is all because I have spent years creating boundaries and only allowing in the best people in my inner circle. As I was minimizing stuff and protecting my bank balance from unnecessary expenses, I was also minimizing toxic relationships and protecting myself from others who would try to hold me back.

If you can relate to these stories from small biz IG, I want you to know that you will always have one person that has your back - me. There is nothing I believe you can’t accomplish, and when you enroll in 1:1 coaching with me, I will teach you how to have your own back, shut out the negativity, and minimize all the voices doubting your endless capabilities.
