Where money, minimalism, and Mother Earth meet.

Hey, y’all! I’m Lauren!

I’m the woman behind The Minimalist Wallet. After years of leading myself through my own finance and minimalism journey, I dreamed up this business to help others envision a life that allows them to live within their values while reaching all their financial goals and more.

Living in a way that supports people and planet is the foundation of what I do.  Every action we take has a ripple effect across the world from where and what we purchase to eat, what clothing we wear, and where we invest and hold our money. Recognizing the impact we have can be incredibly overwhelming. It might even feel easier to just maintain the status quo.

I’m here to guide you through the process of shifting your actions in alignment with your values.

You can build wealth AND live in alignment with your values. You don’t have to choose between the two.

For decades, saving for retirement had one option: invest in the stock market, preferably an index fund. But with so many Americans choosing to only purchase items from companies with high ethical and environmental standards, that same method of saving goes directly against those values. We shop local and secondhand, reduce our fossil fuel consumption, and avoid single-use plastics while our IRA grows and grows thanks to returns from companies contributing directly to vast income inequality and the global climate emergency. Luckily, we now know better so we can do better.

We need so much less than we think. A simplified space will not only benefit your bank account, but how you feel about your life.

Addressing the spending habits that affect our ability to save and reach our financial goals starts by addressing what we already own. Stuff attracts stuff. And a cluttered space leads to a cluttered mind making it more difficult to make decisions that ultimately affect our wallet. A whole home declutter and a break from shopping will have an immediate effect on how you spend and what you decide is worth bringing into your life, both physically and mentally.

A debt-free life is a limitless life. When we reduce our financial obligations, we increase our freedom to do what fills all days with purpose and meaning.

Credit card bills, student loans, mortgages, car payments. We have become accustomed to the idea that we have these expenses for the bulk of adulthood, maybe even the entirety of it. We go to jobs we hate to pay for clothing we have to wear to these jobs, lunches we buy while working at these jobs, and cars we need to get us to these jobs. But we have the power to break the cycle, release ourselves from the stronghold of debt, and make decisions with full autonomy, not obligation.
